I am a little behind on blogging! I shot a cute little family shoot a few weeks ago that included Jennifer, Justin and sweet little Abby. Jennifer contacted me looking for some family pictures since their last time being photographed was when they were married 5 years ago. And of course, Miss Abby would be included since she was their little poochie baby! We met up in downtown Wayzata and took advantage of the great fall colors. Enjoy!

I think you have figured out by now, that I love taking pictures of people. It’s kinda my thang. And some may say I am pretty good at it. Something that makes me better at what I do is shooting in new places. I love being put in completely new surroundings and finding the beauty in this new place. That was what I did with Kalie and Chris’s engagement shoot. They met on campus at Gustavus Adolphus, in the cafeteria. What better place to shoot their portraits than at the scene of the crime? So off we went to gorgeous St. Peter. Kalie and Chris showed me around the campus and showed me some of the spots where they lived and went to class. Then we headed to the downtown area of St. Peter after a quick outfit change and found a bunch of great new places to take some pictures. And then we topped it off with Blizzards for the drive home. YUM!!

When Jen and Jason first came over for their consultation, I immediately liked them. They were totally cute and stylish, had an adorable dog, and Jen’s dad was a wedding photographer, so they were pretty educated on the subject of photography. They definitely wanted to do their engagement photos in October because they LOVED the fall. A perfect couple-photographer match for me!

October finally came and it was not the fall we were hoping for. It snowed and the high temp for the day was 35 degrees. Really?!? But we all agreed that we should just go for it and we did. We hit up the Guthrie Theater to stay warm for the 1st half, then ventured out to the Stone Arch area with Miss Violet the poochie for the 2nd half. Even though we froze our booty’s off, I am IN LOVE with this session!! So much fun!

Things have been absolutely CRAZY here at EyeSpy! I have engagement shoots, family and baby shoots and even a little corporate shoot thrown into the mix for the next few weeks. This Sunday is the fall edition of EyeSpy’s Boudoir Marathon and will take place at the Chambers Hotel. I will not be hosting a marathon in the spring with the development of some new projects that I am working on.

Another sassy senior for 2010! Allie is a busy girl with a gorgeous face. We did it up in Minneapolis and found some new little hot spots to frequent for shooting. She played me a song under some scaffolding and did me a huge favor by sitting on a random couch near some abandoned warehouses. TOTAL ROCKSTAR!

I was having a hard time finding an affordable birdcage veil for my Trash the Dress shoot last month. I scoured the Twin Cities looking for something cute and not outrageously priced and came up empty handed, but inspired. I decided to make my own. I found some great shops that sold all of the ingredients that I needed and got to work. I ended up making 3 veils, and used 2 for the shoot. They are a little funkier than the average birdcage veil, and that is why I love them!!

Now that the shoot is over, what am I to do with these little creations? I don’t want to throw them away, so I figured, a bunch of brides check out my blog so I am offering them up for sale. Let me know if you are interested in learning more about them! I had a blast crafting and researching different styles. I would totally like to see them go to a good home.

Remember the fun engagement shoot I did this summer in Duluth with Lisa and Jeff? It was a tricky shoot as we were dodging random rain showers. Originally, Lisa and Jeff wanted to include their adorable little scooter but with the rain, it just wasn’t do do-able or safe with the rain.

They came into town a few weeks ago and brought the scooter too! We scooted on over to St. Paul and finished up were we left off. I think they turned out great and just love that scooter. I want one in orange!
