I love when I get to do new things and shoot in new places. And boy, was I pumped when Laura and Joe decided they wanted to have their engagement photos taken where they got engaged–Chicago! I love Chicago! It is wayyyy bigger than Minneapolis and Matt and I had a fun time scouting out the city looking for places to shoot. We also were lucky enough to spend our 6 year anniversary in Chicago and hang out with our new BFF’s, Laura and Joe!

Can’t wait until the wedding next June!! I bet you don’t know what day they are getting married on….?

The boudoir marathon is days away…well, more like 26 days away, and I can’t wait! The hotel room has been booked, I have picked up some cute accessories and there are some really great girls that I can’t wait to meet.

“Not your typical senior photos” is how I describe my approach towards high school senior photography. When Ashley got in contact with me, that is exactly what she was looking for, non-traditional senior photos. Like a fashion shoot. That is what we did for her in Minneapolis recently. We started at the Gutherie Theater, moved over to Gold Medal Park and finished off in Dinkytown.

Stephanie and Michael are another fantastic couple who I have the honor of photographing in 2010. Yes, they are both gorgeous, but they are also super in love and great people to know. They are currently living in and wedding planning from Illinois but made the trip back to Minneapolis to have some engagement photos taken. We had a picture-perfect evening and what really made it fun was their spunky little beagle, Rocky. He is a lover! The shoot went down in Uptown and Calhoun Beach. Refreshing!

Let’s start off with a little Rocky!

I have been wanting to shoot a Trash the Dress session like this for a long time. Years. The giant slide, mini doughnuts, a ferris wheel, pronto pups, were all part of my inspiration. I LOVE the Minnesota State Fair. The best variety of foods, interesting exhibits, and of course, the people watching. (You should have seen the mullet I saw this year!!)

Lauren and Andrew were 100% behind me when I asked them if they wanted to get dressed up in some wedding attire again and take some pictures at the Fair. Lauren said she was possibly more excited to trash her dress at the Fair then for the actual wedding. SWEET! So much planning went into the preparing for the big shoot. Outfits, shoes, flowers, hair and make-up, and birdcage veils. It was like planning another wedding!

Thanks so much to Lauren and Andrew for being totally open to my ideas and being such great models! And thank you to my wonderful hair and makeup artist, Kelly, who double as my assistant at the shoot. And thank you Minnesota State Fair for being the most unique backdrop and for providing those delicious pronto pups that I love with extra mustard.

Another fun August wedding! Tina and Kyle were married at St. John Neuman Church in Eagan on a yummy fall-ish day. They brought their adorable little pup Kirby with to take part in the celebration and of course, for some photos! After the ceremony, everyone headed over to the Eagan Community Center for drinks, dinner and dancing. Tina and Kyle live in Arizona but planned for everything to happen in their home state. They did a great job of planning the day from afar, and all of their hard work payed off! Tina picked a great color scheme of red and teal blue for the day and had some fab-u-los-o purple heels. And lets not forget the 2 dresses she had. So much fun stuff! Pictures, please!
