Another Kid!
Thursday, August 27th, 2009Kids!
Wednesday, August 26th, 2009I have been so absolutely busy with weddings this past month that I haven’t had time to blog a couple of awesome kid portrait sessions. They happened a few weeks ago but they still deserve their cute little mugs being posted on the blog!
First up is Kayson, who had his 6 month photos done. I had this amazing vintage buggy that I had recently picked up and needed to incorporate in a shoot. And Mr. Kayson was that lucky babe. We stsrted at my house and then headed off to downtown Stillwater to use that buggy. Cute-ness!
I call this, “The Crying Triptych” ![]()

Then there is the fabulous Ashley, who I can’t believe has turned 11. She is so sweet and sassy and loves to have her picture taken. This year we went to Como and hung out in the Japanese Peace Garden and the Conservatory. Such a pretty place for a pretty girl!

Janet & Ben {wedding}
Monday, August 17th, 2009I love all things unique. If it has been thought of outside the box, I am all for it. Janet and Ben’s wedding was exactly that–unique. First off, they are fairly unique people. Artsy and spunky, and really cool. When I met them to talk about photographing their wedding, one of the first things they said was, “So, this is gonna be a little different than what you are used to…” Perfect.
The day was set to happen at Berwood Hill Inn in Lanesboro, a good 2 hours south of the Minneapolis/St.Paul. A sprawling B&B on acres of gardens and rolling hills. So many fantastic DIY crafts by Janet and friends and happy floral arrangements courtesy of Janet’s mom. Before any “I Do’s”, there was a picnic. And lawn games. And live music. Followed by a sunset ceremony in one of the many gardens. After the ceremony, there was a champagne toast, strawberry shortcake and dancing under the stars. It was a whole lot of little things to make one big celebration. There was so much going on that I had such a hard time coming up with images to blog! But Janet was gorgeous and Ben was dashing and it was quite the wedding to remember.
Congratulations J&B! Matt and I had the best time! Dinner soon with J&R?

Sunday, August 16th, 2009Lauren & Andrew {wedding}
Thursday, August 13th, 2009Lauren and Andrew had quite the day. There were severe storms in the morning and the evening of their wedding. In between, we had sun, heat, some clouds and dry conditions, so we could rock some photos out. In addition to the crazy weather, they had a jammed packed day of love, fun, vows and some partying. It was a blast! Matt and I spent the entire day with the bride and groom and we got some amazing images. So many great ones, I had a helluva time narrowing down for the blog! So this entry will be kinda long and chock full of pics!
The ceremony took place at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in my old stomping grounds of North St. Paul. We headed over to a little farm in Maplewood with the wedding party to take some fun pictures and then headed to Stillwater to grab a few cold ones and take some more pictures before heading to the reception at The Grand in downtown Stillwater.
If Lauren and Andrew look familiar, its because I shot their engagement session with their sweet gal Charlie back in May. And I am not done with L & A, we have a super awesome Trash the Dress session planned in a few weeks that you MUST see!!
But enough about that, on to the wedding!!!
Lauren on her way to see Andrew for the 1st time

Lauren’s vows were super emotional…

Then the priest zinged her and everyone cracked up…it was a good ice breaker.

Congrats you 2 crazy kids!! Dinner soon and TTD even sooner!!

Sunday, August 9th, 2009Jessica & Matt {wedding}
Monday, August 3rd, 2009August is here and it started off with a bang! Jessica and Matt are probably the nicest & sweetest people ever. (Have you noticed that I have the coolest clients??!!) I was so lucky to be able to photograph their wedding. And they had a wonderfully mild day, I was in heaven. Then I saw Jess’s dress. To. Die. For.
I met up with Jess and Matt at the Hennepin Avenue United Methodist in Minneapolis. Such a sharp looking church, inside and out. After the ceremony, the bride, groom and myself headed over to Calhoun Beach for some fun pics and then it was off to the reception at Hotel Sofitel in Bloomington. That hotel rocks my socks with all of it’s funky art. Kind of a long post, but the images are pretty snazzy! Enjoy!
