Mmmm, beeswax. Smells so sweet and romantic. I have started making art pieces with wedding images and they smell so good.

They are fun little collages made with vintage papers and wallpaper, crystals, paper, and other fun little antique foil forms. Basically, I have been on the lookout for unique little craft pieces to become part of the finished piece. Once that is complete, the fun part begins. Each piece is sealed with beeswax. I like it nice and chunky for a smoky, hazy feel.

Here is my latest creation…it’s 12×12 and I love the color scheme, warm and golden.

I got the yummiest package this morning when I went to get the mail…my film from my test shoot I did a couple of weeks ago! Talk about being patient, I was running to the mailbox everyday for the past week.

I invited one of my favorite families out to let me test the Mamiya on their adorable little kids. I think they look pretty fab, the kids and the film. The color is amazing and warm, and I didn’t do any photoshopping, straight up film. A-MA-ZING. The only drawback was shooting 3 lively kids with a manual focus camera…oh well! I will definitely be bringing the film out on all of my shoots. Let me know what you think!

Lauren and Andrew are so much fun. Giant red balloons, their adorable dog, Charlie, and a delightful mix of urban and country as backdrops for their engagement session equals some awesomesauce photographs! This was one of my most favorite engagement sessions ever! So colorful and funky! I can’t wait to see what we come up with for Lauren and Andrew’s wedding in August!!

I know the first day of Spring is technically in March but in Minnesota, that date doesn’t mean a thing. You know its Spring when the trees have buds and your lawn is covered in dandelions. Well, its Check and Mate over here, the dandelions are thriving and my crabapple tree is starting to bloom!!
