Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays!
Thursday, December 25th, 2008Merry Christmas to everyone out there! I hope you have a fabulous time with your family and friends and I wish you nothing but the best for the new year. Thanks to everyone for your continued support of EyeSpy Photography, I am so lucky to take part in such intimate moments in people’s lives.
And, yes, Santa made a stop to the EyeSpy residence and little Luca made out like a bandit. A few trucks, Elmo’s and balls…and of course, he just wanted to play with the boxes.
EyeSpy will be on a little break until January 5th of the new year. I will still be responding to emails and will be available to new and prospective clients, but album design and proofing will be on hold until the 5th.
Alicia & Dave 12.13.2008
Tuesday, December 16th, 2008December weddings are so different than summer ones. The weather, obviously, is quite a change. But what makes December weddings so different is the vibe; the holidays are on their way, the snow is here, and everyone seems a little more carefree at a winter wedding. I love it!
Alicia was the perfect bride for my last wedding of the year. So chill and laid back. But still very excited about marrying Dave. I had known Alicia from working in the Comm Center a few years ago and she has babysat Spyder and Murphy when we have been out of town. She is a very caring girl but spunky. And that is why I like her so much, we are both a little silly and naughty. I met Dave for the first time at the wedding and he was quite nice and mellow, opposite of Alicia’s spunkiness, which is probably why they work so well together.
The wedding took place at Augustana Lutheran Church in West St. Paul and the reception took place at the wonderful Mississippi Dunes Golf Course. The perfect flowers were done by the fantastic Carra of La Petite Fleur whom I have worked with before, and let me tell you, she does beautiful work. The one drawback of winter weddings is the absolute lack of daylight, but I worked my EyeSpy magic and got plenty of shots outside before the sunset. And I had a new second shooter with me, Tricia! She is way awesome and super talented! Welcome Tricia!
Weddings are serious business and Alicia doesn’t mess around, she didn’t just have bridesmaids…

Seeing each other for the first time

Thank you so much Alicia and Dave for having us!!! It was a fabulous day and I hope you have the best time in Hawaii!! Lucky dogs!
NetWORK it!
Thursday, December 11th, 2008Yesterday I had the chance to do something I want to do more of, but there never seems to be enough time for, NETWORK. I met up with the awesome Sarah of Lasting Impressions. Sarah and her team coordinate weddings and other events in the metro area and they rock the house.
Sarah does “day of” coordinating or if you prefer, the whole sha-bang, like finding vendors, locales, and she will even help with picking weddings colors if you need it! She was so organized and incredibly nice, especially because Luca was my wingman and was definitely making eyes at her. She is also a blogger and posts about her most recent events.
So if you need a little help on the wedding day, or a ton of help leading up to, you should give her a call, it will be one of the best moves you make when it comes to planning your wedding. Next to hiring EyeSpy, that is.
Tyler & Lily’s Christmas Photo
Saturday, December 6th, 2008The cutest nephew and niece came over for their yearly Christmas card photos. They are so damn cute! Their theme this year was Santa and Rudolph, per my sister. And I totally made them go outside for their photos because Santa and Rudolph need real snow.
One thing I learned is 2 year olds HATE having their picture taken and the only thing that mildly gets their attention is “ice cream”. And they won’t even give you a real smile, what a stinker! Lily, on the other hand, was a professional reindeer.
Emma is 1
Monday, December 1st, 2008Recently I drove out to Albertville for a shoot of an adorable newly 1 year old. I may or may not have stopped at the Albertville Mall before I went home, looking for deals.
I met Emma, who was the birthday girl and just a doll. She showed me her room, her collections of pink pigs, and how much she loved her blankie. It was too cute. She also showed me how to climb stairs and ride a pony. I learned alot! Thanks for playing with me, Emma, you are too sweet!
