Tricia & Rashad 10.18.2008
Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008Fall weddings are so awesome! Pretty colors, crisp smells and no humidity!! Tricia and Rashad were married at Lynnhurst Church in Minneapolis with the reception at the Depot downtown. We made some photo stops at the Stone Arch Bridge and the Sculpture Garden which made for the most perfect backdrops with the great weather we had on Saturday. I had met Tricia a few times before the wedding but this was the first time meeting Rashad. What a cool guy! Tricia and Rashad are so sweet and loving as a couple. And fun!! These guys know how to party and have great taste in music!
I met up with Tricia at the Depot where she was getting ready with her girls. She had a gorgeous dress and adorable bridesmaid dresses. With pockets!
Seeing each other for the first time

After they had a moment together, it was off to the Stone Arch for some photos of the couple

Then it was almost time to get married, so off to the church we went! This church had so much character and charm, I loved the doors.

Then Tricia’s gramma helped put on the family veil that had been worn by 11 other brides.

Matt got this shot of the couple leaving the church, all smiles!

Back to the Depot for the reception, dancing and most importantly, CAKE

Thanks SO much Tricia and Rashad, we were so welcomed by your families and had so much fun with you! Enjoy that new cabin on Lake Superior!!!

Curtis’s Senior Shoot
Sunday, October 19th, 2008Another day, another senior, another boy! I shot with Curtis a few days ago and again, I was excited to have another guy as my model. It was a really nice fall day and we spent the shoot in Downtown Stillwater. I found some new nooks and crannies and dark, creepy alleys to shoot in and I think they turned out fantastic. Curtis apparently has the reputation of being shy, but I didn’t buy it. He was up for any of the suggestions I had and so incredibly nice. So here are some images from the shoot I call: downtown a la Curtis.
Cool New Stuff.
Wednesday, October 15th, 2008I got 3 new things recently that add to the EyeSpy Photo arsenal. Very important things. Super fun things. Colorful retro things.
#1. I finally got a new office chair. Now I know that doesn’t seem that important but my booty sits in a chair in front of my computer for hours at a time. I had a hard time finding something comfy and cute. But I am now the proud owner of a squishy white pod looking chair. And it matches my office, which keeps my motto of “fashion before function” alive and well.
#2. I got a Holga a couple weeks ago. I have been messing around with it by taking weird Luca and dog pictures, but I think I am going to start bringing it to weddings and throwing a black and white roll of film in and see what kind of cool artsy shit I come up with. Isn’t it adorable?!?
#3. The most important by far. I needed new wedding shoes. My current ones were definitely getting worn and a little stinky. I like have something that looks good and doesn’t kill my feet with all of the running around I do at a wedding. I usually have black average shoes but this time I got something a little sassier.
They are Dr. Martens and I love them! I haven’t bought a pair of Docs since I was in high school kicking it in big black boots. They still have the yummy air soles which are conveniently oil-resistant, for those really messy weddings. And in leopard, too. SWEET! I feel like a teenager again!!!
Eddie’s Senior Shoot
Sunday, October 12th, 2008I get a lot of girls asking me to do senior photos. But I was WAY excited when I found out that Eddie wanted me to shoot his photos. And he had tons of things he wanted to include in the pictures to make them his own. His dog, his horse, his truck and he wanted the shoot to take place on his family’s farm in Afton. I was really looking forward to this, completely different from anything I am used to! I got to pet his super cute pup, sit on a horse, and step in chicken poop. It was really fun!! And a gorgeous day that gave us goofy clouds and a bright blue sky. Thanks very much Eddie! I had a blast!
i love any dog that has a beard

Hair Ball 2008
Monday, October 6th, 2008Over the weekend, I hung out with hairstylists, make-up artists, and some models for a hair show, Hair Ball, in Bloomington. I was there shooting for Salon Ultimo in Woodbury, to get them some photos specifically for the salon. I hadn’t done anything like this before so I didn’t know what to expect. It was pretty fun.
I ended up finding the perfect backdrop for the photos, the stairwell. It worked out so perfectly because the girls were in some funky punk outfits with hair to match. What could be more perfect than the dirty stairs?
I am kinda nervous to post these since I have never really shot official “fashion” shots before, so please be nice in the comment section!!
The clothes are by Minneapolis fashion designer Laura Fulk. Good stuff, Maynard.
Missy’s Senior Shoot
Thursday, October 2nd, 2008I have really been lucking out lately with the absolutely adorable girls that have been booking me for their senior photos. And Missy is no exception. She is this cute little thing with fabulous eyelashes. And she has a great smile and a really great serious face.
I have been loving these fashion-themed senior photos that I have been doing! I get to hang out with fun seniors who have tons of outfits and make them look like rockstars, I love this job! If you haven’t gotten your senior photos done yet, and you want to look HAWT, shoot me an email!
