Tara and Joe: engagement

Sunday, August 31st, 2008

Over the weekend, I spent a beautiful morning with Tara and Joe. They had just flown in from Arizona to visit family, take a trip to the State Fair, and to hang out with me! They are getting married very soon in Mexico, and guess who is shooting the wedding??

We met up at St. Anthony Main and the weather was so nice. Tara and Joe are so damn cute and so in love. We had a good time talking and taking a few funky photos inbetween. Here is the proof, enjoy!!

I love all of Tara and Joe’s photos, but I really like this one. I was trying so hard to keep my feet out of the shot, but finally said screw it, and got this one. LOVE.

Sarah & Tyge 8.23.2008

Monday, August 25th, 2008

This past weekend I shot a gorgeous wedding for a gorgeous friend. Sarah used to be my boss a few years back. When I first met her I thought she was so sophisticated and smart and I knew we should be friends. And we were. When Sarah and Tyge (finally!!!) got engaged, I was lucky enough to be asked if I could photograph her wedding. I had to say yes because not only is she a dear friend of mine, but because I knew she was going to have a sweet wedding with the best details.

The girl had 2 dress, 2 pairs of shoes, a real DJ, a photobooth, the yummiest food, a beautiful reception site and a church that meant a lot to her. Not to mention one of the funnest, sweetest and handsomest (is that a word?) boys ever as a fiancé. Sarah is a Stillwater girl, so everything was local.

She booked Camrose Hill as her reception site (they also provided the flowers) and it doubled as the backdrop for getting ready. This place is so pretty, gardens full of flowers, shabby chic decor inside the little cottage, basically a photographer’s dream. The wedding was at St. Michael’s with little bar run in downtown Stillwater following the ceremony.

As with every wedding I shot, I had a hard time narrowing down for the blog, there was so much great stuff.
Enough blabbing, let’s see some pictures!

Unbelievable shoes for the reception

Ali’s Senior Shoot

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

The other night, I got to spend some good quality shooting time with my new friend Ali. She is a senior this year and she wanted some funky and fashion-y senior photos, and I was happy to oblige!

And fyi…Shooting seniors is SO MUCH FUN! We have nothing but time to pick out cute outfits, talk, explore and take super ass-kickin photos. And that is exactly what we did with Ali. Downtown Stillwater was our backdrop again, but this time around, I went down some alleys I have never been in before and found some really great locations. Plus, Ali is gorgeous so taking her picture was a breeze!

Check them out!

Spyder’s turn

Monday, August 18th, 2008

Miss Spyder has turned 6. She is probably the best dog that has ever lived. She is a person trapped in a Wirehair’s body. She hates strawberries. She loves to kiss Luca. She is the reason EyeSpy is called EyeSpy. She always calls shotgun. She is the home protector. And she always sleeps in the crook of my arm when its bedtime.

I tried a few different times to get some creative and funky pictures of Spy for her birthday post so you could see what an absolute doll she is. But she needs a bath and is kinda stinky and her hair is a little flat. And she was is no mood to model on her birthday. All she wanted to do was lay on the couch. So I let her, its her birthday for cryin’ out loud!!

So here are a few pics from the little Duluth trip we took a few days ago. Spyder is wet and foamy from keeping all seagulls away from our little stretch of beach but she wouldn’t have it any other way.

Kisses Spy!

Happy Birthday Murphy!!!!

Sunday, August 10th, 2008

My furriest little pup is 5 years old today. When we got him, he weighed 12 pounds. He is now 75. He is so sweet and smart and I love his super furry face, even when it gets tons of burrs. And as a pre-birthday treat, I let him chase turkeys in the backyard yesterday.

Murphy, you are the best boy ever!!!

Ashley is 10

Saturday, August 9th, 2008

Yesterday, I got to hang out with my lovely friend, Jenn Cress and be her 2nd shooter. Do you how long its been since I have been a 2nd shooter??? A long time, and I was nervous!! I don’t have any images right now to share with you, but I think I was a good 2nd shooter and it was so much fun hanging out with JC as we worked. :)

But I do hate posts that don’t include any photos so I have some of Miss Ashley who will be 10 very soon. She wanted to go downtown Stillwater like all of the big kids. So we popped into town and got some super cool stuff, especially for a 10 year old.

The Minnesota State Fair!

I can’t wait for:
Pronto Pups (not corn dogs, those suck)
French Fries
Sweet Martha’s Cookies with All you can drink Milk
Mini Doughnuts
and another Pronto Pup

and maybe some Dippin Dots or a Malt from the Dairy Building?? Or maybe a Sno Cone?
Am I the only pig here? Or are there other people out there who save up meals so their diets can “start over” after the fair? :)

You know what would be so fun? To do engagement shots at the fair, we could eat and shoot. How awesome would that be?

If you are a super fun couple and are up for the challenge of State Fair engagement shots, you better let me know, because I really want to do it!!! Send me an email and it will be a date!
