Awwww, man!

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

One of my computers died today. There will not be a funeral, because I was going to put it out to pasture in a few weeks anyways. I guess I will be getting my new Mac alot sooner than I had planned. Whoo hoo!

Today and tomorrow will be used for pulling random files of of the old hard drive. BORING. But don’t worry too much about me, all of my weddings and shoots are backed up. I may have lost some edits, but other than that, its all good at eyespy!

I did learn a super-duper lesson today, sometimes technology sucks. Yes, computers can do wonderful things and make our lives easier, but when they fail, it can be quite a bummer. So when you see an old computer chugging along, don’t turn your nose up at it, give a friendly pat on the head and thank it for its service before it croaks.

So, if you are a client who’s wedding or photos I have taken within the past couple of weeks, don’t fret!!! Everything is saved, but I am going to be a few days delayed in getting everything back on track. :)

Carrie & Andy Oct.20.2007

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

Carrie and Andy were married just this past Saturday. It was a bea-u-tiful day, compared with all of the dreary rain we have been having. Carrie booked me without meeting me, and boy, did I luck out, she and Andy, and their families were an absolute dream! The wedding was at Gloria Dei Lutheran in St. Paul, and the reception was at the Town and Country Club. We hooked up at Carrie’s hotel for some getting ready shots before the ceremony.

On to the photos!!

Molly & Bryan 10.13.2007

Wow! My wedding season is almost over, and what a season it has been. I have had tons of excellent brides and bitchin’ grooms. It is so hard to look through complete weddings and try to summarize them in only a handful of photos. I try to show a variety of shots of the entire day, but sometimes it feels like I leave out so much. I hope you enjoy looking through my photos for ideas on where to get married, types of flowers and most importantly, looking for help finding a sweet wedding photographer…hint, hint!! But wedding season isn’t over just yet, Molly and Bryan’s wedding happened just a few days ago and you have to see these photos!

First off, I want to say that I have known Molly for years and years, and she is almost as crazy and fun as I am. :) She married spunky Bryan who complements her perfectly. The wedding took place at Emmaus Lutheran Church in St. Paul. The affair had a french theme so there were Eiffel Towers and Fleur de Lis everywhere. They had tons of friends and family there…and their sweet little poochie Coby came by to take some photos, complete with a flower doggie collar.

Some getting ready shots…

Ivory & Dan 10.6.2007

Fall weddings are always so pretty. Especially when the trees and the weather cooperates. October 6th started out rainy and icky, but by 9am all the clouds and sprinkles were gone and that made me very happy. Matty and I began our day very early, but we were also done working early so that was cool. And speaking of cool, that is a very good description of Ivory and Dan. They had such different and eclectic ideas, it was so fun to be a part of their day.

The ceremony was at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in St. Paul. Isn’t it so cute?

Sweet flowers by Stems and Vines. The wheat was everywhere throughout the day, it was from Ivory’s family farm, where they grow–Wheat! I love how it was tied into all of the decorations and invites and flowers.

Then we were off to the luncheon reception at Jax Cafe in Northeast. Great location, great food and great backdrop for photos.
Ivory and Dan were showing off their bling right before lunch in the Jax courtyard.

Trust me, this cake was to die for.

Ivory and Dan didn’t have a traditional DJ, instead, they had a guitar and trumpet combo who were really good and got the crowd dancing. They weren’t planning on having the normal “bride and groom dance”, but the crowd was requesting such good songs, that they had to dance!

Congrats and have a great time on your honeymoon!! Thanks so much, you 2 were really on top of everything!

Jen & Mike 9.29.2007

Saturday Matty and I shot another awesome wedding. This time, it was the wedding of Jen and Mike, whos engagement shots I did this past June. And if you remember, little spunky Buster the lab was included in the photos. Buster was supposed to make a little appearance at the wedding, but the rain and wind kept the little guy at home. I would like to state for the record, that Jen and Mike are so wonderfully nice, as are their families. We met up with everyone at Shepard of the Valley Church, in Apple Valley.

The reception was held at Buck Hill in Burnsville and what a fun place that was. Maybe it was mainly because the bride and groom had so many guests and everyone was having a great time talking and mingling.

Congrats Jen and Mike! Thanks very much for having us and being so great. We appreciated everything!!
