Ashley is 9 and Kevin’s Senior Shots

Monday, July 30th, 2007

A 2 for 1!!

So I am a little behind on blogging, I am naughty. But I want you to know that I haven’t been slacking, so here is the proof.

Last weekend I didn’t have a wedding to shoot but I did have alot to do. I had a senior session with Kevin which we did in Osceola. Then I had some “turning 9″ photos with my friend Ashley at Como.

Ashley always comes prepared with cute outfits that I want to steal from her if they would fit me. We hung out in the garden, watch baby ducks swim in the pond and rode the merry-go-round. Plus, this girl has the most unbelievable serious/sassy face. She is the ultimate 9 year old supermodel!

Kevin’s senior session was not as sassy as Ashley’s but we did some cool stuff. We met at a golf course in Osceola and Kevin shot a few holes and drove me around in a golf cart like a maniac. Kidding… kind of…he did take some bumps like a race car driver but neither of us fell of the cart, so I look at that as a success. Then we walked down (then up) about a million stairs and got some really neat shots with a waterfall. Then we chilled in the little downtown area for a few more shots.

Julie & Brian 7.28.2007

Monday, July 30th, 2007

I spent this weekend shooting Julie and Brian’s wedding at the uber-cool Gale Mansion in Minneapolis. It was so nice because the ceremony and reception were all at one place. It was a great looking day, bright blue sky with a few puffy clouds. And I have a blast hanging out with the stars of the show. I had only met Julie initially when she was looking for photographers, and we hit it off immediately, she and I both liked dogs, the Rollergirls and anything funky. And now that she and Brian are married, she is moving to Miami with Brian so he can finish his PHD and become a super-famous professor. I told her I wanted her to stay here so we can hang out, but she declined.

Anyways…the reason you are here, is to check out some sweet photos. So I will shut up and get to the photo displaying part. BTW…Flowers were done by La Petit Fleur who did a smashing job.

Kelly & Mitch 7.14.2007

Monday, July 16th, 2007

This past Saturday was a picture perfect day. The weather was excellent and luckily, Shelley and I got to spend the day documenting the perfection with 2 wonderful people and their families. Kelly and Mitch are now anxiously awaiting me to post some of their wedding photos from Jamaica while on their honeymoon. Which is a perfect location to end a perfect wedding day.

Everything about their day was absolutely beautiful. The ceremony was held at the Shepard of the Valley in Apple Valley and they had a great garden area for photos. After the ceremony, the wedding party made its way to Minnehaha Park for some fun shots with the Falls, the park and a BMX bike. Then, we headed to the reception at the Calhoun Beach Club, but not before we stopped at Calhoun Beach and did a few shots. Now, I have mentioned a ton of locations that aren’t going to be blogged in photos, but only because I have SO many fantastic images to choose from, I had to make some cuts somewhere. But don’t worry Kelly and Mitch, you will see everything when I finish editing your photos!!!

Katie and Bret July 7th

Monday, July 9th, 2007

So the word on the street was that last Saturday was the luckiest day of the year. And apparently, tons of couples got married that day. I happened to be one of the luckiest photographers to have shot a wedding for the most awesome Katie and Bret in Eden Prairie. The one thing that wasn’t so lucky was the weather. 98 degrees is not so nice when you are wearing a wedding dress, a suit or running around like a crazy person carrying lenses and cameras. We were all pretty hot. My dear friend Shelley was helping me shoot and here are some of the images we got. We were so skillful in our shooting, that no one looked sweaty or uncomfortable in any of the shots. Or because AC was just steps away.

The wedding took place at Wooddale Church in Eden Prairie. They had the AC blastin’ so when we were inside, we were cool and comfortable.

Katie’s dress was so pretty, it had sparkly buttons all the way down the back.

The reception was held at the Minnesota Valley Country Club in Bloomington. So nice! Everything looked great, and they even let Grandma bring in tons of cookies and treats which is a tradition on the bride’s side.

First Dance
white-1901.jpg

Let me tell you, when the dance floor opened up, there were maybe 10 people who weren’t busting a move. This was the most intense dance I have ever seen!! Grandmas were dancing with Grandpas, babies were rocking, and the wedding party was on fire. And the bride’s dad does a mean YMCA and Electric Slide.

Congrats Katie and Bret and have fun on your top-secret honeymoon! And thanks so much to the White family, you are all so welcoming and I love that I got to hang out with all of you again! (And congratulations to Tim and Danielle on your anniversary July 1st!)

Trish & Andy 6.29.2007

Sunday, July 1st, 2007

On Friday, I shot an outside wedding. I was so pumped!! It was my first outdoor ceremony for the year and it was a nice change to my usual shooting routine. And the wonderfully fabulous couple that picked such a gorgeous and perfect June day was Trish and Andy. They choose the Eagan Community Center for the ceremony and reception site. Everything went off without a hitch, and the ceremony transitioned smoothly right into the reception for cocktail hour and some mingling before everyone started getting down at the dance.

Since I have tons of wedding photos to edit, I will spare you all my witty and clever commentary and just show you the hotness. Leave a comment and let me know what you think!!
